I’m sure if you’ve suffered from panic and anxiety for any amount of time you’ve been frustrated in the past, being told that all you can do is go to a psychologist, a hypnotist, practice meditating, or take anti-depressant medication to dull your feelings. We all know that these solutions can work for some people, but they more often than not they only work for a while, and it’s very easy to slip back into having panic attacks when you stop taking your medication or seeing your psychologist, because both of those things are a crutch to lean on, not a cure for your anxiety – take out the crutch and it’s easy to fall back down. It’s the same story with all of us suffering from panic attacks symptoms. We suffer, we think that the best way of overcoming panic attacks should be to visit a doctor. We do, and the doctor does one of the following: Prescribe us some panic attack treatment drugs that make us dizzy, and above all, doesn’t help to cure our anxiety attacks. Tell us that “it’s all inside our heads” and recommend us some self relaxation techniques that are meant to distract the symptoms, not to cure our anxiety attacks. I have been there. I was doing those while this whole problem was eating my life away; I was doing those while I was unable to get out of my house, I was on the verge of losing my job, my wife, my kids, my family and my life. No, I didn’t want to learn how to cope with panic attacks. I wanted to learn how to get rid of panic attacks completely. And I did that. I was taught how to overcome anxiety and panic disorder. And I was able to accomplish this – overcoming panic attacks. Naturally, it wasn’t thanks to any “coping” techniques – it was thanks to a technique that was meant to go head to head with the fear and kill it. The right way of treating panic disorder is to face your fear. Picture yourself over an edge right now – anxiety and panic are pushing you further to the edge. The techniques for coping with anxiety aren’t working and it becomes worse day per day. You are afraid of having another panic attack. This fear itself raises your stress and anxiety, and makes a panic attack likely. So, the panic attack can feed on itself to create an ever-growing cycle of fear. You must break this cycle of fear by wanting to have a panic attack. I know it sounds scary, but this is how you can cure your anxiety disorder. Remember that analogy to you being pushed to the edge? Jump. Jump from the cliff yourself, into your fears and anxiety. It sounds scary, but the medical fact is that panic attacks are completely safe. There can come no harm to you by having one. Yes, it feels horrible and your senses are heightened, but medically, there is no harm done. Jump there, knowing that there can come no harm to you. And you will see for yourself that the fall becomes a three inch drop. You are safe. You have always been safe.

Continue Reading »Since so many suffer from panic attacks, specialists and doctors have spent a lot of time developing treatments to help them overcoming those panic attacks. Some techniques are easy to apply, and others may be difficult or life-changing. For example, some medications may have side effects that are worse than having the panic attack! That’s why it’s best to carefully go through all your options and see what’s the best course of action for you. One simple panic attack treatment is to breathe into a paper bag. This may help you concentrate and get your breathing pattern to normal. What’s important to remember is that you need to use this technique only after and if you started hyperventilating as this will reduce the level of oxygen that get’s to your brain, bringing it back to normal. You can also find CD’s with breathing techniques that will guide you to take cleansing breaths that will nurture your body. Besides breathing into a paper bag, you might think at using some breathing techniques. Breathing very slowly through your nose can help your whole body reach equilibrium and decrease your fear. Meditation can go very well with breathing exercises. It can come in many forms, and be as usual or unusual as you want it to be. Many people simply sit and breathe trying not to think at anything. Others do chanting and humming as their form of meditating. Whatever what you choose to do, meditation can help in your plan to overcome panic attacks. Certain medications can help to stop your panic attacks, unfortunately, getting a dependence to drugs is way too common. There are many other side effects that can come from medications that you’ll definitely want to look into more before getting started. Some doctors may even put you on an antidepressants, but like any other drugs these come with their own problems. Also, using medication can get quite expensive over time, and generally offers only short-term results. You may want to take a more holistic, or natural or approach. This can generally be used without side effects and can have surprising effects. Instead of masking what is going on, you can get to the root of it and truly end your panic attacks for good! We’ve already mentioned breathing techniques and meditation, but there are many other things you can also do. One of the best approaches is talking to yourself and realizing that no one has ever died from having a panic attack and that the fear is unrealistic. You can realize that the absolute worst thing that can happen is easily manageable by you at that moment in time. Regular physical exercising has also been known to help with panic attacks not occurring that often. When you start to feel anxious, get outside and start doing some sports or exercising and you will probably feel better then before. For severe cases, however, this may not be enough for overcoming panic attacks. One of the most important things you can realize is that even though it’s called a “panic attack,” it is not something you necessarily need to fight. Instead, you can just let your panic attack be and actually accept the symptoms. This may sound counter intuitive; but it can absolutely work. Instead of getting stuck in a vicious cycle of having panic attacks, you are suddenly above that. These are somewhat simplistic descriptions of some complicated treatment options that are available out there. If overcoming panic attacks needs to be a priority in your life right now, it’s in your best interest to learn today more so you can devise a treatment plan that will end your panic attacks for good.

Causes Of Anxiety AttacksWhile science is still unsure of an accurate answer as to the specific causes of anxiety attacks, but there are some common triggers that are known to play a role. * Stress hormones released into our system cause panic attacks, it follows that anything that causes these stress hormones to be released, can potentially act as a trigger for panic attack. * If you know that a particular situation stresses you, and you feel that situation is impending, chances of that stress escalating into a panic attack increase. Traumatic events, which cause significant stress in life, also can lead to these anxiety attacks. * Fear plays the biggest role in attacks. Natural Self Treatment Techniques and TipsLearn deep breathing techniques. Deep breathing can allow your body to calm down when you begin to feel anxious. Controlled breathing relaxes the tightened muscles, and this has a direct effect on reducing the feelings of anxiety and panic felt by body. Begin your breathing exercise as soon as you feel the first sign of a panic attack. It may take a bit of a practice to get there, but try doing this for at least couple of minutes, and gradually increase it as you can.Relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation also help out in dealing with anxiety attacks in the long run.Behavioral therapy that focuses on modifying your reactions to certain situations, and altering your thought pattern that would trigger your fear can be part of the panic attack treatment.Remember the common triggers of panic attacks? There are so many methods for overcoming anxiety and several wonderful natural panic attack treatments. Certainly there is no reason for giving into the conventional treatment for panic attack symptoms, which almost always translates to subjecting yourself to questionable medications. After all, those prescription pills aren’t actually an option for anxiety cures or to cure panic attacks anyway. At best they simply mask the symptoms without ever enacting a factual cure. Genuine cures can be found in the realm of alternative medicine that are not only safe, but also reliable, effective, and inexpensive. Some focus on diet and exercise, others by mental manipulation even through hypnosis, but the best ones in my opinion would be those that eliminate symptoms by healing physical deficiencies. If those types work, then obviously any other natural solution is not essentially required. Therefore the present article is focused primarily on nutritional solutions to overcoming anxiety disorders and panic attacks. Apple Cider Vinegar – is a wonderful natural panic disorder treatment. Use preferably organic ACV but it should at least be unprocessed or as they say, “With the mother in it.” 1 tsp. 3 times a day in a glass of water has been reported to work wonders, or as much as a tbsp. or two especially in emergencies, has also been documented to be extremely helpful. Vitamin B-12 & Folic Acid – is another standby in the realm of naturally overcoming anxiety. Any good Vitamin-B supplement should contain both and it is best taken in conjunction with 5-HTP. Of course there is no good reason not to take all of these remedies simultaneously, as apposed to relying on just one. Not necessarily at the same time, but throughout your day, as there is no conflict between them when taken in the recommended dosage. 5-HTP is an excellent option for a natural panic attack treatment. 5-HTP, short for 5-hydroxytryptophan is an intermediate metabolite which is situated between the amino acid tryptophan and the neurotransmitter serotonin. As we all know serotonin is esential for feelings of wellness, and for dealing with stress and anxiety. 5-HTP usually comes in 100 mg capsules. The recommended dosage is once to twice daily. It is suggested that you initially start with only one capsule a day, then gradually increase the dosage to two. However, do not exceed the recommended dose. St. Johns Wort – Winter Cherry – Siberian Ginseng – are all superb herbs to take for anxiety disorders. Winter cherry and Siberian ginseng both support adrenal gland functions. Malfunctioning adrenal glands are often at the root of physical causes for anxiety disorders. Winter cherry has been shown to have a sedating effect on the body and helps to rebuild the digestive and nervous system. It is also excellent to take at night for a more restful sleep. Siberian ginseng has been used traditionally to stimulate and nourish the adrenal glands and for increasing mental alertness. St John’s Wort has been shown to be very successful in increasing a sense of well-being and reducing or even eliminating the occurrence and symptoms of panic attacks. Flower Essences & Homeopathic Remedies – in particular Bach’s Rescue Remedy is a favorite for panic attacks. As far as homeopathic remedies are concerned Gelsemium reigns supreme. There are so many other flower essences and homeopathic remedies for anxiety disorders and panic attacks, but any good health food store will carry them, and of course they’re available on line. Well that’s at least a healthy start on the road to living your life free from anxiety disorder symptoms. If you get these items in your home and set yourself up on a program to take them, and stay with it, you will get relief. As far as a 100% complete cure that all depends on the severity of your disorder and what’s causing it in the first place. I hope the title of this article didn’t lead you to believe that deep breathing is ineffective towards dealing with panic disorders, or that I was making fun of it. On the contrary, it most certainly is. My position is, why should you have to? The same with regular exercise. Of course both are great if not essential for everyone, but if you can get to the root of the problem, that would be best. No matter your situation, I do sympathize as no one can truly imagine the torment caused by this disorder, until they’ve personally experienced it. Don’t give up as you will achieve a total cure through holistic methods. There are so many, many, options, and as I said before, you can take advantage of them all, simultaneously. Panic disorder is such a prevalent condition in our society, so don’t ever think your alone, and as far as a cure, your definitely on the right track. The day will come soon when you will look back at this condition and laugh. Seriously. Maybe today will be that day, so good luck and best wishes.

Panic attack disorders are experienced by four out of five adults. Depending on the person affected, the condition may range from mild to extreme. According to experts, panic attacks occur suddenly and unexpectedly without any definite factor that triggers it. For those who suffer from panic attacks and haven’t learned to recognize the triggers and signs of an oncoming attack, should be aware that the attack can strike at any time.
The first way to overcoming panic disorder is to recognize the signs of an onset of a panic attack. Rapid and irregular heart rhythm, a racing or pounding heart, dizziness, frequently lightheaded, nausea, trembling or shakiness, weariness or lethargy, profuse sweating, diarrhea and constipation, a series of hot or cold flashes, difficulty breathing, an overpowering feeling of terror, dread and fear of losing control.
Panic attacks are more serious than simple anxiety. Panic disorder can showcase grouping effects that can bring comfort at one moment and frightening episodes of behavior the next. These are just some of the many signs of panic attacks. Since each individual can manifest other symptoms depending on their body chemistry and how he or she reacts to stress, panic attacks vary in nature.
The panic attack sufferer not only has to recognize the signs and symptoms of panic disorder, but they also must include recognition of the reasons why the attacks happen. According to experts, there are several theories as to why these attacks occur in the first place. The most common reason being genetics and heredity.
Researchers have agreed that if panic disorder runs in the family, the person is more likely to experience attacks when compared to those who have not been predisposed. Genetics are just the root of the disorder. External factors such as stressful life events, unhealthy diet, hypoglycemia and some medications play a huge roll in becoming diagnosed with panic disorder.
Once your condition is diagnosed by the physician or trained specialist, you can then begin to use your treatment options that will help prevent the panic disorder or aid you in stopping the panic attacks.
Today, medical researchers have developed treatments and solutions to the problem, as well as preventions. Two major treatments that are given are usually behavioral therapy, administering of prescription drugs, or a combination of both, if necessary. Seeking medical attention is the first thing you should do, if you have been experiencing signs of a panic attack. A licensed professional can diagnose panic attacks and start a treatment plan.
Treatments that involve therapy, medication, or a combination of the two are quite vital to controlling panic disorder. It is best that you seek professional help early if you feel you are prone to having these symptoms of panic disorder or panic attacks. A psychiatrist, psychologist or even a licensed counselor can help diagnose your condition and start you a treatment regimen.
