Have you ever felt the recommended techniques for a panic attacks treatment was just making the panic attacks symptoms worse? Me too! So just relax and breathe. Breathe really deep and ….kidding, I’m kidding. Seriously though, because we both know what a traumatic experience it is to be confronted with this ongoing drama machine titled anxiety disorder, can be. So lets be practical. First and foremost is to eliminate any and all contributing factors. So hire a hit man to rubout your spouse. Your parents? That teacher? Your boss? No not the kids! Dear God Please, not the kids!?! See, it’s easier than that, so make a list of what needs to go. Panic causes the body to become flooded with it’s natural stimulant hormone, adrenaline. The last thing you need pumping through your veins at a time like that is more stimulants. Chocolate, coffee, tea, or any drinks containing caffeine, including even energy drinks and green tea should probably be avoided. You have to read labels and think these things through. Black tea is said to be excellent for anxiety disorders so try that instead, or go decaf everything. Be aware of what you eat or drink and how it affects your anxiety levels. Keep a food diary! Really, until you’ve got this thing figured out. Typically the underlying physical instigator of anxiety and panic disorders is caused by a malfunction of the adrenal glands, or adrenal fatigue. This can also cause low blood sugar or hypoglycemia. Yep, I bet you knew that one was coming. You need to go ahead and eliminate all sugars. Also artificial sweeteners full of excito-toxins like Aspartame are poison for the brain, so go ahead and say, “bye-bye.” Instead of three meals, eat five or six smaller meals a day to keep your blood sugar on an even keel. They should be healthy snacks that are evenly balanced as far as proteins, complex carbs, and fats are concerned. You will do much better on a high protein diet along with healthy sources of saturated fats such as butter, coconut oil, and olive oil. Still there? Wanted something a little easier and less structured? Hmmm…? OK, but don’t just throw out everything I just said because it is a good foundation and I didn’t even mention fasting, or cold showers, which are both excellent natural anxiety cures. I didn’t want to mention panic attack damage control because I was trying to focus on prevention, but of the many things you can do if one hits, this always worked for me back in the day. It goes against all of the natural instincts you feel at that moment, but at the first sign of an outbreak first and foremost, relax. At least sit down if your not where you can lay down. Begin to breath in very slowly through your nose, and exhale the same way. In a seriously calm mood tell yourself, “Everything is alright.” Don’t freak out, because it just puts fuel on the fire. “Everything is alright.” You have to believe it. Also to boost back up your blood sugar, as most panic attacks symptoms are caused by a drop in blood sugar levels, drink a glass of diluted fruit juice or eat a banana. Then eat a snack that is balanced in the area of complex carbs, fats, and proteins. That will hold your levels for the time being. Of the many physical natural panic disorder treatments you can rely on, herbal cures are very reliable and convenient. For emergencies aromatherapy works great. Carry a bottle of lavender oil and a handkerchief. Sprinkle some on it and breathe it in slowly at the onset of an attack. Go online or to your health food store, and get some appropriate herbal remedies to take all the time. They work, as do homeopathic medicines and flower essences. Much better than those debilitating anti-anxiety prescriptions do, what to speak of the complimentary panic attack you get from having to go through a doctors visit to get them. Practice emergency treatments before you have an attack, and carry a natural panic attack kit. Didn’t you learn anything from all of that boy scout training? Yeah, be prepared! But don’t obsess over it. That’s the worst thing you can do. Expect the best but be prepared for the worst. An ounce of prevention and all that. Just knowing your prepared, will help to keep you calm. I barely got started on that subject and it’s already time to go. Oh well, another day. All I can say is, overcoming anxiety, and panic disorder treatment, does not have to be something that follows you for the rest of your days. Can you just see yourself at eighty-three with a grownup grandchild having to hold your hand and say, ”Granny, just breathe!” Get real. Not gonna happen. You will find the cure and soon, I just know it. I did, and once you do, all of this drama becomes nothing more than a faded, “Remember when…?”

Many people want a natural cure for panic attack problems. For many years, drugs and counseling have been the only panic attack remedy available for sufferers. But now there are a variety of remedies available right from your own home. After discussing risk factors, causes, and diagnosis with a medical professional, you can consider working some of these natural techniques into your life.
Reduce Life Stressors
One important way to reduce the frequency of panic attacks is to reduce the level of anxiety or tension in your daily activities. Lowering the amount of stress in your life is an easy first step to reducing the amount of panic attacks. Spend more time doing the things you love to do and less time doing the things that you do not like doing. Of course we all still have to go to work, but after a long day of work, spend your evenings doing what makes you happy. Soon your day of work will be filled with anticipation over your evenings instead of anxiety over work.
Relaxation
Relaxation exercises can also be a great way to reduce your stress levels and may even fend off a pending panic attack. Continually test your relaxation abilities to help build your skills in this area. Doing your relaxation exercises on a daily and consistent basis will reduce your overall stress level. Carve out a specific time of day that is just for you. It will soon become a time that you look forward to everyday.
Exercise
Exercise is a great stress reliever for your body. Regular exercise will get your heart rate up and your endorphins moving. Your body will be able to get rid of toxins faster and relax easier when you stick to a regular exercise program. You do not need to run a marathon, just try to get your heart rate up at least three times per week for 30 minutes or more.
Support
Although many people are anxious about seeking help from a support group, they can often be the best help for an anxiety disorder like panic attacks. Being able to talk with others who are going through the same things can be very helpful. The Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA) has meetings in hundreds of cities across the country.
Diet
Drinking plenty of water will help flush toxins out of your body and eating healthy foods will keep your body operating at its best. Avoid high sugar and fat foods, as they will cause a build up of toxins in your body. Eating a balanced diet has always been a recommendation for people suffering from anxiety disorders, but it is generally a good idea for everyone!
Incorporating natural remedies into your panic attack treatment is easy and can be done gradually. Simply pick one thing and start doing it slowly. If you start incorporating exercise into your life and are able to stick with it, then add eating a balanced diet to your plan. Slowly try to incorporate all five natural remedies and you will quickly be on your way to a newer healthier you!

Your first panic attack should be a learning experience that will help you control attacks in the future. Sometimes people with a panic attack go to the emergency room thinking they are having a heart attack as the symptoms are similar and come on suddenly. You’ll feel things like sudden periods of extreme fear, anxiety, shortness of breath, dizziness, trembling, rapid heart beat, hyperventilation, tingling sensation, nausea, etc. When they learn that it was a panic attack and knowing the difference they can start taking control of their future attacks. This is important because often a panic attack will keep you from even functioning. Panic attacks are caused by many physical, mental and emotional triggers. Genetics may play a part and females are more apt to get them than men. Allergies or sensitivities to food, drink or chemicals can trigger an attack along with memories or trauma. Alcohol and drug can also cause panic attacks and disorders. Serious and upsetting experiences along with everyday events could trigger an attack. Panic disorder may lead to “situational avoidance,” where the sufferer feels they have to avoid every place or situation in where attack has occurred and might not even leave their house which could be a very serious disruption to a normal life. Control subjects were less likely to have panic attacks then patients with panic disorders after both drank a high amount of caffeine, according to results of a small study by Isabella Nascimento, MD, and colleagues at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil. People who had went to a doctor for treatment told me that they were usually told they should avoid caffeine in colas, coffee, chocolate and teaI’ve talked with several people who gave me the following natural treatments they have used to cure or avoid panic attacks without using medicine. Deep Breathing One of the best forms of panic attack relief is to simply take deep, slow breaths to prevent hyperventilation. By getting hyperventilation under control you avoid things such as the dizziness and lightheadedness which happens because there is too much oxygen being taken to the brain at one time. Exercise This appears to be a one of the best ways of dealing with a panic attack once it’s started. An adrenaline rush usually accompanies an attack and the exercise can bleed it off according to people who use it. Aroma therapy After listening to a number of people talk about using aroma therapy to combat panic attacks it appears there are two schools of thought. The first swears by using smells that bring back pleasant memories, such as baby powder, certain flowers, farm animals or barbecuing. The others said that aromas from essential oils or candles were the best. Meditation This is a way that several people said helped them from having attacks or by being able to stop them once they started. Think happy thoughts or take your mind off your problem Others told me that once an attack started they tried to empty their mind of anything but pleasant things that they had done in the past and it appeared to help them. They also said taking your mind off the attack with things like counting backwards from one hundred was helpful. The above ways are used by ordinary people to cure or get over a panic attack. In some cases they just can’t do it themselves and need professional help. Below is some information on several different natural methods used to cure people with panic disorders. Getting Professional Help Hypnosis Diane Ulicsni, director of The Hypnosis Center in Lake Oswego, Ore., suffered from chronic panic attacks for many years. She finally found relief through hypnosis and is now a board certified hypnotherapist. She says that hypnosis — recognized by the American Medical Association since 1958 as a form of treatment — is one approach that is non-drug and can greatly ease or even cure panic attacks. Laugh your panic attacks away? That’s a good strategy, says Steve Sultanoff, PHD, a clinical psychologist in Irvine, Calif., and past president of the American Association for Therapeutic Humor. He uses humor visualization with his panic attack patients, telling them to imagine themselves in a situation where they’ve laughed uncontrollably. When they have a panic situation, they are able to return to the picture of themselves laughing. Cognitive Behavorial Therapy James D Herbert, PHD, associate professor of clinical psychology at MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, says that cognitive behavioral therapy is his choice for treating panic disorders. Cognitive-behavior therapy is made up of two parts: One is to identify and modify the thinking patterns that produces anxiety (cognitive therapy), and lessening anxiety by exposing the patient to fearful scenarios (behavior therapy). If you suffer from panic attacks try some of the treatments listed above. They have worked for people I talked with and maybe they’ll work for you too. There are so many methods for overcoming anxiety and several wonderful natural panic attack treatments. Certainly there is no reason for giving into the conventional treatment for panic attack symptoms, which almost always translates to subjecting yourself to questionable medications. After all, those prescription pills aren’t actually an option for anxiety cures or to cure panic attacks anyway. At best they simply mask the symptoms without ever enacting a factual cure. Genuine cures can be found in the realm of alternative medicine that are not only safe, but also reliable, effective, and inexpensive. Some focus on diet and exercise, others by mental manipulation even through hypnosis, but the best ones in my opinion would be those that eliminate symptoms by healing physical deficiencies. If those types work, then obviously any other natural solution is not essentially required. Therefore the present article is focused primarily on nutritional solutions to overcoming anxiety disorders and panic attacks. Apple Cider Vinegar – is a wonderful natural panic disorder treatment. Use preferably organic ACV but it should at least be unprocessed or as they say, “With the mother in it.” 1 tsp. 3 times a day in a glass of water has been reported to work wonders, or as much as a tbsp. or two especially in emergencies, has also been documented to be extremely helpful. Vitamin B-12 & Folic Acid – is another standby in the realm of naturally overcoming anxiety. Any good Vitamin-B supplement should contain both and it is best taken in conjunction with 5-HTP. Of course there is no good reason not to take all of these remedies simultaneously, as apposed to relying on just one. Not necessarily at the same time, but throughout your day, as there is no conflict between them when taken in the recommended dosage. 5-HTP is an excellent option for a natural panic attack treatment. 5-HTP, short for 5-hydroxytryptophan is an intermediate metabolite which is situated between the amino acid tryptophan and the neurotransmitter serotonin. As we all know serotonin is esential for feelings of wellness, and for dealing with stress and anxiety. 5-HTP usually comes in 100 mg capsules. The recommended dosage is once to twice daily. It is suggested that you initially start with only one capsule a day, then gradually increase the dosage to two. However, do not exceed the recommended dose. St. Johns Wort – Winter Cherry – Siberian Ginseng – are all superb herbs to take for anxiety disorders. Winter cherry and Siberian ginseng both support adrenal gland functions. Malfunctioning adrenal glands are often at the root of physical causes for anxiety disorders. Winter cherry has been shown to have a sedating effect on the body and helps to rebuild the digestive and nervous system. It is also excellent to take at night for a more restful sleep. Siberian ginseng has been used traditionally to stimulate and nourish the adrenal glands and for increasing mental alertness. St John’s Wort has been shown to be very successful in increasing a sense of well-being and reducing or even eliminating the occurrence and symptoms of panic attacks. Flower Essences & Homeopathic Remedies – in particular Bach’s Rescue Remedy is a favorite for panic attacks. As far as homeopathic remedies are concerned Gelsemium reigns supreme. There are so many other flower essences and homeopathic remedies for anxiety disorders and panic attacks, but any good health food store will carry them, and of course they’re available on line. Well that’s at least a healthy start on the road to living your life free from anxiety disorder symptoms. If you get these items in your home and set yourself up on a program to take them, and stay with it, you will get relief. As far as a 100% complete cure that all depends on the severity of your disorder and what’s causing it in the first place. I hope the title of this article didn’t lead you to believe that deep breathing is ineffective towards dealing with panic disorders, or that I was making fun of it. On the contrary, it most certainly is. My position is, why should you have to? The same with regular exercise. Of course both are great if not essential for everyone, but if you can get to the root of the problem, that would be best. No matter your situation, I do sympathize as no one can truly imagine the torment caused by this disorder, until they’ve personally experienced it. Don’t give up as you will achieve a total cure through holistic methods. There are so many, many, options, and as I said before, you can take advantage of them all, simultaneously. Panic disorder is such a prevalent condition in our society, so don’t ever think your alone, and as far as a cure, your definitely on the right track. The day will come soon when you will look back at this condition and laugh. Seriously. Maybe today will be that day, so good luck and best wishes.

Panic disorder is a common condition in which a person has episodes of intense fear or anxiety that occur suddenly. Panic attacks can indicate the presence of panic disorder, depression, or other forms of anxiety-based illnesses. A panic attack typically lasts for several minutes and is one of the most distressing conditions that a person can experience. Panic attacks can occur at any time, even during sleep. An attack generally peaks within 10 minutes, but some symptoms may last much longer. At least 1.7% of adult Americans, or about 3 million people, will have panic attacks at some time in their lives. Panic attacks may be symptoms of an anxiety disorder. These attacks are a serious health problem in this country. About 5% of the population will experience panic attacks during their lifetimes. There also appears to be a connection with major life transitions such as graduating from college and entering the workplace, getting married, and having a baby. Severe stress, such as the death of a loved one, divorce, or job loss can also trigger a panic attack.
More women than men are affected by panic attacks. Some people are affected by frequent panic attacks, a condition known as panic disorder. A panic attack is a response of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS). The most common symptoms may include: trembling, dyspnea(shortness of breath), heart palpitations, chest pain (or chest tightness), sweating, nausea, dizziness (or slight vertigo), light-headedness, hyperventilation, paresthesias (tingling sensations), sensations of choking or smothering. Many of the symptoms that occur during a panic attack are the same as the symptoms of diseases of the heart, lungs, intestines or nervous system. The similarities between panic disorder and other diseases may add to the person’s fear and anxiety during and after a panic attack. Heredity, stress and certain biochemical factors may play a role. Several medicines can make panic attacks less severe or stop them altogether. Paroxetine (brand name: Paxil) and sertraline (brand name: Zoloft) are antidepressant medicines that have been approved by the U.S.
Medications from the beta blocker family (for example, propranolol) are sometimes used to treat the physical symptoms associated with a panic attack. Antidepressants are very effective in preventing anxiety and panic attacks. Antidepressants will not make you lose control or change your personality. These medicines can be used for as long as necessary, even for years. Alprazolam and clonazepam (brand name: Klonopin) are also medicines approved by the FDA to treat panic disorder. These medicines give relief from fear and anxiety. Cognitive-behavioral therapy helps people learn to deal with panic symptoms, using techniques like muscle and breathing relaxation. Antidepressants, such as Tofranil, often help reduce anxiety and the frequency and severity of panic attacks. Psychotherapy offers support and helps to minimize the fearfulness of symptoms, and sometimes is sufficient to clear up the disorder.

This was supported by both American as well as British medical Association. When it comes to panic attacks, there are several ways hypnotherapy can work.
